AIS Unveils New ACP ThinManager Ready, Rugged, Industrial Thin Client PCs and Touch Screen Terminals With ACP-Enabled BIOS for Industrial and Hazardous Areas

AIS's ThinManager Ready Industrial Thin Clients and Compact Series Touch Panels Offer Powerful Control and Security in a Sustainable and Scalable Platform

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwired - August 10, 2015) - American Industrial Systems, Inc. (AIS), the leader of open architecture, HMIs, Touch Panels, Industrial PCs (IPCs), and Embedded Computers, has now introduced a new portfolio of rugged, Industrial Thin Client IPCs and Compact Touch Screen Terminals. The new offering of Industrial Thin Clients are ACP "ThinManager-Ready" with ACP-enabled BIOS ideal for industrial and hazardous areas and applications most commonly found in industrial factories, chemical processing plants and oil & gas facilities and refineries. Available in 7", 10.1", 12.1", 15", 17", 18.5" and 21.5"; ACP ThinManager allows AIS Thin-Manager-Ready Thin Client Touch Screen Terminals to be configured in a central location instead of individually at each client.

AIS Industrial Thin Clients communicate with an AIS Touch Panel or Industrial PC (IPC) host and therefore do not require installation, licenses or additional software on the unit itself. Ethernet connectivity and cabling is used to connect units to the host from large distances affordably. Industrial Thin Client solutions from AIS require only one IP address. Local software installation or configuring is not required and the display and user interface are provided by the host. Therefore, the client also does not have to implement backup, restore, or update actions.

AIS Offers a Complete, Versatile Range of Compact and Rugged PCs and Compact and Rugged Touch Panels to Improve Uptime, Reliability and Performance

The new portfolio of industrial thin client solutions for automation, control and monitoring applications from AIS are designed satisfy a wide variety of industries and customer requirements. AIS's Industrial Thin Clients offer cost-effective solutions to run an operator station on-site at the machine with great flexibility and high levels of convenience. Applications can include a second operator station at large or distributed machines in connection with another AIS Touch Panel or Industrial PC, as well as remote operator terminals in client/server applications. AIS's Thin-client hardware is diskless/fan-less and offer more long-term reliability in harsher and more demanding environments. Overall system benefits of AIS's Industrial Thin-Client families include:

  • Lower total cost of ownership (TCO)
  • Simple, easy and fast commissioning
  • Rugged and reliable in harsh environments
  • No restrictions regarding maximum distance to server

Rugged & Compact Thin Client Options, ThinManager-Ready® Thin Clients with ACP-enabled BIOS Provide AIS's Customers More Options to Solve Automation and Control Problems

ACP ThinManager shows what AIS Industrial Thin Clients and Panel PCs are operating, what terminal servers they are assigned to, whether they are logged in, and even what applications they are running. No moving parts and easy maintenance makes AIS ThinManager-Ready® Industrial Thin Clients more reliable and trouble-free, while a PC or fat client requires hours of installation and configuration. AIS ThinManager-Ready® thin clients can use the native Microsoft RDP protocol or the Citrix ICA protocol to communicate with the Terminal Servers.

From distributed HMI solutions with client-server architecture, to machine level and control and monitoring, to sophisticated SCADA control systems, AIS offers an extensive line of Industrial Thin Clients, Compact and Rugged PCs and Touch Terminals. The highly reliable Compact Thin Client PCs and Panel PCs from AIS combine the advantages of rugged aluminum die-cast housing with open IoT gateway platform powered by the Intel® Celeron® Quad-core processor N2930. To serve this great range of application specifications and requirements, AIS's new line of Industrial Clients are available in two distinctly different series of industrial thin client solutions, with different form factors, sizes and capabilities. They are comprised of Compact Thin Client PCs and Rugged Thin Client PCs; and Compact Thin Client Touch Panels and Rugged Thin Client Touch Panels. Specifications for each include:
