Alameda County, California Clerk-Recorder Selects ID Shield™ Automated Redaction Software

MADISON, WI--(Marketwire - August 19, 2009) - Extract Systems, a leading provider of data indexing and redaction software, announced that ID Shield™ Automated Redaction Software has been selected by Alameda County in a national RFP process to provide redaction to the Clerk-Recorder's office. California Assembly Bill 1168 requires all California counties to protect citizens from identity theft by removing Social Security Numbers from official records. Alameda County will redact Social Security Numbers from approximately 25 million public records recorded in the county between January 1, 1980 and December 31, 2008.

Extract Systems' technology partner, Fidelity National Technology Imaging (FNTI), will provide document conversion and verification services. The FNTI and Extract Systems team was the highest scoring vendor on every evaluation criterion, receiving a perfect score for technical expertise and high ratings for redaction experience.

"We're pleased to work with Alameda and the other 15 California counties for which we provide redaction," said David Rasmussen, president of Extract Systems. "ID Shield Automated Redaction Software achieves industry high accuracy rates because our engineers develop highly refined rules (phrases, text patterns and locations designed to find and eliminate sensitive information) for each new project. Each set of custom rules builds on the comprehensive rules Extract has been meticulously developing for over 10 years. By thoroughly analyzing each record and document from every client, we've built a National Rule Set™ that delivers high accuracy rates on the first day of the project, without the need for the software to learn or add to its knowledge base. ID Shield's high accuracy rate combined with Extract's expertise in verification workflow saves tax payers money by reducing the staff time needed to verify automated redactions."

Extract Systems' ID Shield Automated Redaction Software provides redaction for government agencies across the country, including: Clerk of Court, Probate Court and County Recorder for Montgomery County, Ohio; Clerk of Court and County Recorder for Lucas County, Ohio; Clerk-Recorder for Santa Barbara and San Mateo Counties, California; and New York, California, Colorado and Utah Secretaries of State.
