As a recent Food Banks Canada report states that a staggering 37.3% of people helped by food banks in Quebec are children, Welcome Hall Mission steps up to provide the gifts and toys that are unrealistic luxuries in family budgets that barely stretch to pay for food and rent. On December 6th, Welcome Hall Mission will be hosting a blow-out Christmas party for 2,400 children from disadvantaged families in Montreal. Over 10,000 presents will be given out just in time for the holidays. This special event brings joy to the lives of children aged 0 to 12 who normally deal with the realities of poverty.

The mission will transform its food bank area into a huge party room where children will listen to Christmas stories, decorate Christmas ornaments, take part in coloring activities, get their faces painted with seasonal designs, see animators create balloon sculptures - and spend time with Santa!

WHAT: 'Noël pour tous' Christmas party and toy distribution
WHEN: Saturday, December 6th, 2014
9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (Closed 12-1 pm)

Welcome Hall Mission thanks Ardène, Café Southside, Disney VoluntEAR, Docu-Dépôt, Hasbro, ╚èlot 307, Jouets Pour Kids, Mega Brands and Rôtisserie Fusée for their generous contributions of toys and food.

Before the sense of wonder even begins to fade, the team at Welcome Hall Mission will start preparations for the annual Christmas Basket distribution that takes place from December 16th - 19th and December 23rd - 24th. Generous Christmas baskets will be distributed to over 2,000 families who are having a hard time making ends meet.
