Alberta Energy Regulator Launches Online Incident Reporting on AER.ca

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - June 25, 2013) - The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) has launched a new incident reporting tool to provide improved public notice of energy-related incidents reported to the new regulator.

Beginning next week, the AER will post notice of all pipeline incidents as well as any energy-related incidents that may impact the public. The AER will also post enhanced criteria for issuing news releases related to incident response to ensure Albertans are informed in a timely manner. The AER online incident report is an enhanced public information resource and does not change any existing regulatory requirements for incident notification and emergency response.

The AER is committed to maintaining public safety through effective regulation, responding swiftly when rules are broken, and updating requirements when necessary. The incident reports will be available for viewing at www.aer.ca.
