Alberta Medical Association: AMA and CMA town hall features all five political parties


EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - March 9, 2012) - As Alberta readies for a provincial election in which health care is expected to be a priority issue, Minister of Health and Wellness Fred Horne and representatives of the four other political parties will take part Monday, March 12, in a town hall on the future of health care. The town hall is sponsored by the Alberta Medical Association, the Canadian Medical Association and the Edmonton Journal.

Questions will be posed by members of the public, Journal readers, other health care organizations and non-profits, and an Edmonton physician.

In addition to Mr. Horne, the panelists will be:

  • Brian Mason, Leader, Alberta's New Democratic Party
  • Dr. Raj Sherman, Leader of the Official Opposition
  • Danielle Smith, Leader, Wildrose Alliance Party of Alberta
  • Glenn Taylor, Leader, Alberta Party
