Saturday, March 14th Alberta Snowboarding proudly hosts the Western Canadian Halfpipe Championships at COP. Due to unseasonably warm weather a suitable halfpipe venue could not be built for the Sportchek AirNation Halfpipe originally planned for Whistler-Blackcomb later this month. In quick response to this challenge WinSport generously donated the COP halfpipe venue to host this event in Alberta. National Team athletes like Calynn Irwin are scheduled to ride, as well as junior athletes from across the province, including Rocky Mountain House, Red Deer, Cochrane, Edmonton and Calgary.

The next day, on Sunday March 15th, the Alberta Snowboarding Association wraps up the final event for the Northern and Southern Slopestyle Series, and is sponsored by Cochrane's local boardshop Shredz. Athletes from Northern and Southern Alberta will gather at COP to compete for the Alberta Slopestyle Championship title. Riders attending the event will be from across the province including Calgary, Cochrane, Canmore, Leduc, Edmonton, Jasper, Red Deer, Medicine Hat, Grande Prairie, Airdrie and Redcliff.
