Aldershot Commences Drilling at Adelaide River Uranium Prospect

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - June 11, 2007) - Mr. Jeremy Caddy, President of Aldershot Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:ALZ), is pleased to announce that following governmental approval of the proposed program and filing of the required environmental bonds, drilling has commenced at the Adelaide River Prospect in the Northern Territory.

The initial hole, at the abandoned Adelaide River Mine has been designed to undercut the historical workings and intersect the Black Lode, host to the known uranium mineralisation at a depth of about 130 meters. This is the first of two holes to be drilled at the Adelaide River Mine. Historical mining at the Adelaide River Mine extended to about 50 metres below surface. It was planned to mine down to approximately 100 metres below surface but mining ceased abruptly when the contract was fulfilled. There is a reported historical resource of 6,350 tonnes grading 0.32% U3O8 including blasted ore in the stopes.

Four diamond drill holes, two at the Adelaide River Mine and two at the George Creek Prospect (approximately 7 kilometres to the south) are planned for the initial phase of drilling. The two holes to be drilled at the George Creek Prospect will target the contact point of a sandstone unit with a local fault zone.

Mr. Ian Faris, Vice President Exploration, commented, "With the area drying out and drilling now underway as well as getting a second geologist on site, mapping and follow-up of the airborne anomalies can be undertaken at the same time as the drilling. Having an historical mine on our Exploration Licence gives Aldershot a very powerful exploration tool. Mapping of the surface expression of the mineralisation and its host structure can be related back to the mineralisation intersected by the drilling. In turn, the knowledge gained from this work can immediately be used in evaluating the airborne anomalies. Our geophysicist has identified an initial 32 radiometric uranium anomalies located along a 12.5 kilometres' corridor for initial follow-up."

Mr. Faris added, "This is an exciting program for Aldershot and we are confident that the results of this drilling, the supporting mapping and ground follow-up of the airborne radiometric anomalies will generate a significant mineralised zone as well as additional areas for future drill testing for both uranium and the associated gold anomalism. The first hole will take about a week to complete, with assay results available about a month later. The plan is to complete this initial field program by mid-August."

Aldershot has also sent its geologists to the Yuinmery Uranium Project, located in the East Murchison mineral field of Western Australia, to mark drill locations for the approximately 200-hole program scheduled to commence by mid-June. A contract has been signed with a drilling contractor to undertake this work. The airborne radiometric-magnetic survey completed in December last year at Yuinmery identified three anomalous zones. Aldershot is excited with the prospect to expand the potential resource at Yuinmery significantly and will announce results of this drilling program as information becomes available.
