Alertware Technologies' Groundbreaking Humanized Technology Fights Campus Violence and Helps Mitigate Workplace Emergencies by Cutting Police Force and Security Response Times

Wireless System Helps Protect People on Campuses and at Work, and Can Save Irreplaceable Research From Being Lost Due to Equipment Failures

AKRON, OH--(Marketwired - November 12, 2015) - Each custom AlertScape™ Protected Community is a wireless radio network that allows campus police and other security forces to respond faster than ever before in their battle against workplace and campus violence, crime and emergencies. In addition to protecting people such as nurses and students at places like universities and teaching hospitals, it has many other applications for industrial and research institutions. It can prevent the loss of valuable research due to equipment failure (fail point-monitoring). Assets tagged in any AlertScape™ community can be easily located when temporarily mislaid (asset location). The system does not rely on external power, phone systems of any kind -- or GPS.

"Time is power. This is what we can give to campus police and security: the tactical advantage of time. They know what's happening faster, so they can do more to help. It's a game changer," says Head of US Sales and Partner, Ron Henthorn.

"We are on a mission to get this technology into every school campus, research facility and teaching hospital across the US and Canada, at low cost -- or no cost at all. We are inviting foundations who support improving the quality of life for our people and our students to help us make a difference, today," says Ross Raby, Partner.

The system works by outfitting people or assets with an AlertStick™. Within each new AlertScape™ Protected Community, the device sends a signal when a person is in distress, or equipment is failing. People are never tracked, so there are no privacy violations. It only works when it's needed -- and triggered. The pinpointing within the AlertScape™ is virtually instantaneous.

The design is elegant and scalable, with no construction and a quick and easy setup. The system is such that it self-heals and maintains itself, without needing any external system or facility power. It always works -- even in underground parking lots, tunnels, and remote indoor or outdoor areas.

"Safety-type poles can be too far away to reach, completely covered in snow, or malfunctioning. Cell phones can have dead batteries, or not work in the most at risk and remote areas on campus and other places. Alertware eliminates these concerns as it works everywhere -- all the time," says Jeff Bateman, Co-Inventor. "We help protect people -- and the things they value. We empower women's groups and organizations to step up and positively impact safety on campuses and workplaces across the country," adds Bateman.

"Every woman has felt unsafe at some point in their lives -- myself walking back to a car in the dark or at work in large film studios. I co-founded Alertware to help protect women just like me," says Lucy Delaat, Director of Alertware Technologies. "I've been fielding inquiries from Africa, India and other places around the world who are very excited about this revolutionary technology, and want to partner in their prospective countries."
