NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - June 03, 2014) - Alex and Ani, one of America's fastest growing lifestyle brands, announced today its signature Charity by Design (CBD) philanthropic program was honored with a Silver Cause Marketing Halo Award in the Best Business Model Integration Category at the 12th Annual Cause Marketing Forum Conference in Chicago. A total of 18 awards were given out on May 29 to programs judged to be the best at doing well by doing good in 2013.

Since Charity by Design was formed in 2011, more than $11 million has been given back to more than 1,500 organizations nationwide through one of three ways:
The sale of customized symbolic charm expandable wire bangles that capture the essence of a particular non-profit partner, of which a portion of the proceeds (typically 20% with a minimum contribution for each partner) is directed to that partner. Since inception, over $8.3 million has been distributed to 37 non-profit partners from product sales alone.
Charmed by Charity events, which are held in Alex and Ani's 40+ retail locations nationwide, have generated $562,000 in donations benefitting 1,359 non-profit organizations.
Through donations, an average of 200 Alex and Ani products each month benefits non-profit organizations, and Alex and Ani's Charity by Design has donated over $2.3 million to thousands of non-profits through sponsorships, via in-kind donation, monetary donation or a combination of both.
