Alibre Launches Team Design Server for Corporate Workgroups

New Product Enables Intranet-Based Data Sharing and Collaboration Behind the Corporate Firewall

RICHARDSON, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 20, 2006 --Today Alibre announced a new product targeted at workgroups in larger enterprises. Alibre® Team Design™ Server allows companies to deploy Alibre's proven collaboration and design document management technology locally on their corporate intranet. It has been developed in response to requests from design groups using multiple licenses of Alibre Design™. Previously, the Team Design technology was available via Alibre's server as a web-based offering.

In September of 2005, a number of Alibre's multi-seat accounts requested a version of the Team Design server that would operate inside their firewalls rather than the proven ASP configuration that has securely served Alibre Design users for years. The ability to share data and collaborate without being connected to an external server is mandated by some organization's corporate IT and security requirements. By Q4 '05, Alibre quickly developed a pilot program for an on-site version of the technology.

"Our 3D CAD software has been gaining traction with companies of all sizes. Larger clients enjoy our price point, but some have unique IT requirements that necessitate that our collaboration server be installed on their Intranet behind the firewall. Now with Team Design Server, we give them the ability to get both -- a locally installed server and 3D CAD software on more desktops. We see this as an opportunity to bring the lower price points and sophisticated real-time data sharing and collaboration to the Fortune 1000 companies as well as workgroups in smaller companies," says CEO Greg Milliken.

Alibre Team Design Server is intended for collaboration and data sharing in demanding corporate engineering environments. Core features include the following:

-- Repository for Integrated Data Management. Provides a location to
organize and securely store data on a local hard drive, a network
drive or a secure server. Files created outside of Alibre Design
can also be stored in the Repository to manage related project data
in a central location. Additional features include:
-- Rights Management -- manage access rights and privileges such as
read and write for different types of users to protect and share
        files.
-- Check-In/Check-Out -- check in and out documents and files from
any application in addition to those created in Alibre Design.
-- Notifications -- Set up automated notifications to team members
when files are checked in or out.
-- Version Tracking -- create new versions each time a file changes
throughout the project lifecycle for systematic backup and change
tracking. Projects can be rolled back to earlier versions or
versions can be purged altogether to maintain one version upon
        completion of project.
-- Team Design Sessions for Collaboration. With Alibre's unique
peer-to-peer technology, multiple Alibre Design users can spontaneously
communicate and work directly on the same sketch, model or drawing in
real time. The peer-to-peer architecture sends simple lightweight
commands between users' systems that are then executed locally for
optimal performance during team sessions. In addition to measuring
and viewing, Team Design enables users to:
-- Work with others in real time to create, edit or review designs.
-- Use text chat or voice over IP technology to communicate.
-- Insert redlines and mark-ups during sessions; save the mark-ups
with the design including the time, date and author.
Alibre also uses the Team Design technology to enable its real-time Alibre Assistant, which allows users to interact directly with Alibre Support Engineers. With the release of Team Design Server, customers now have the option to connect either to the Alibre web server and the Alibre Assistant or their own Team Design Server and manage collaboration and data sharing internally.
