Alix and Geo Announce Drill Date For Manitoba Coal Property Adjacent to Goldsources "Border Property"

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 27, 2009) - ALIX RESOURCES CORP. (TSX VENTURE:AIX)(FRANKFURT:37N) and GEO MINERALS LTD. (TSX VENTURE:GM) (The "Companies") are pleased to announce all permits are in and drilling on the Manitoba Coal Property will commence March 9, 2009. This property lies between the Goldsource's Saskatchewan "Border" property, which currently has a drill program underway, and their "Pine River" property located in Manitoba, all within the projected Durango Trend.

The proposed 12 drill holes, to be drilled by CorePro Drilling Inc., are plotted to test the Cretaceous Mannville Formation that is covered by the Manitoba Coal Property and where Goldsource discovered the Durango Coal seam. The drill area was chosen as a target by the companies coal geologist Terry Massoth as being a very prospective area for shallow intercept of coal. Mr. Massoth's coal experience includes work with BHP Minerals where he directed field coal reconnaissance and drilling programs in the western USA and eight Latin America and Caribbean countries; compiled and ranked most highly prospective deposits, and collected samples.

As announced November 5, 2008, in an agreement with a Saskatchewan based private company, NuCoal Energy Corp., the Companies have the right to acquire up to an 80% interest in 31,904 hectares (78,836.5 acres) of prospective coal ground adjoining Goldsource Mines Inc. "Border Coal Discovery" property which now has a drill program underway.

The companies also have an option with NuCoal on property in the Torch River area of Saskatchewan that adjoins the Weststar Resources "18 Meter" property, also currently being drilled.

Drill permits are also expected shortly for up to 10 holes proposed on the Wapawekka Lake Property in Saskatchewan.

Geo and Alix now have 250,398 acres covered by Coal Prospecting Permits, with another 159,334 acres in the Torch River area under option from NuCoal, and the Manitoba coal property covering 78,836 acres for a total acreage of 488,568 acres.
