Allardville Residents Celebrate Completion of Important Upgrades to Wastewater Treatment System

Project Made Possible Thanks to Federal Gas Tax Fund

ALLARDVILLE, NEW BRUNSWICK--(Marketwired - July 9, 2014) -

Residents in the Local Service District of Allardville gathered today to celebrate the completion of important upgrades to the community's wastewater treatment system, which will contribute to enhancing the quality of life in Allardville.

The existing wastewater treatment system, an old lagoon that is at capacity, was upgraded by converting the lagoon into a polishing pond and constructing a new, adjacent lagoon. The collection system was extended 800 metres on Route 134, south of the community, to accommodate 25 additional connections, and 970 metres on Route 160, west of the community, to accommodate 28 additional users.
