Allegiant Travel Company Announces a Special Dividend of $1.65 per Share

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - December 04, 2015) - The Board of Directors of Allegiant Travel Company (NASDAQ: ALGT) today declared a special cash dividend of $1.65 per share on its outstanding shares of Common Stock. This dividend will be payable on January 8, 2016 to stockholders of record at the close of business on December 18, 2015. The total amount of the special dividend payment will be approximately $28 million, based on the current number of shares outstanding.

"This action demonstrates our commitment to returning cash to shareholders," stated Maurice J. Gallagher, Jr., Chairman and CEO of Allegiant Travel Company. "Including our quarterly cash dividends, we will have given back $2.75 per share in dividends this year, an increase of $0.25 per share from 2014. We have also returned $129 million through share repurchases through November 30, 2015. The Board felt that it was appropriate at this time to issue this $1.65 dividend because of our financial performance, our healthy cash balances, and our ability to grow the company through aircraft purchases utilizing cash flows from operations."
