Allen Matkins Launches Diversity & Community Involvement Blog

Firm Uses New Technologies to Support and Promote Diversity, Community and Pro Bono Activities

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - September 30, 2010) -  Clients of leading California law firm Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis LLP can turn to a new resource to learn about the firm's diversity, community and pro bono activities. The Allen Matkins Diversity & Community Involvement blog (allenmatkins.net/diversity) is part of the firm's movement into Web 2.0 and social networking technologies to connect with its clients and community.

"We have received an increasing number of requests from clients for articles and information about our activities," said Adam L. Stock, director of marketing and business development for Allen Matkins. "The firm has always been active in the communities it serves. Communicating about our actions in a public forum is a significant shift for us. While Allen Matkins is well known for building relationships though events -- techniques that 'Baby Boomers' are comfortable with -- we are working to also enhance our relationships with those who are more comfortable with new media and technology."

Allen Matkins has an active diversity program chaired by its director of diversity, Guy Rounsaville, Jr., and by Andrea Clay, a partner in the firm's San Francisco office. The firm's diversity and community involvement programs include providing legal services pro bono, community and client outreach programs as well as internal development programs.

"We live in the most multicultural and diverse state and the better we understand those issues, the better we can serve our current and future clients," said Rounsaville. "Ensuring that we have an inclusive environment strengthens our business and attracts talented attorneys and staff."

Allen Matkins is committed to ethical leadership, giving back to its community, providing equal opportunities for all, and stewardship of the environment. The firm has a long history of providing pro bono legal services to individuals and organizations in the communities in which it practices and elsewhere.

As part of its diversity efforts Allen Matkins will be participating and sponsoring the California Minority Counsel Program's (CMCP) 21st Annual Business Conference -- "The Beauty of Diversity" -- at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco on September 30 - October 1, 2010. The conference brings together in-house and outside counsel to discuss cutting-edge legal issues and recognizes legal departments for their diversity efforts.

Over the last year Allen Matkins developed its LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter presences. Earlier this year the firm launched California Corporate Law Blog (calcorporatelaw.com), which has been nominated as an ALM Top Business Law Blog. California Corporate Law is edited by Keith Paul Bishop, a partner in the firm's Orange County office.
