Allergy Alert/CFIA: Undeclared Milk in #1 Gluten Free Brand Cake Mixes

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 4, 2011) -

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with allergies to milk not to consume the #1 Gluten Free brand Cake Mixes described below because these products contain milk which is not declared on the label. The affected products have been recalled in the USA by Raymond-Hadley Corporation of Spencer, NY due to undeclared milk.

The following #1 Gluten Free brand products are affected by this alert:

These products were imported by McCall's Bakers Warehouse located in Mississauga, Ontario. The affected products may have been distributed nationally.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.

Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk.

The CFIA is working with the importer to remove the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
