Allergy Alert: Undeclared Sulphites in Various Thai Processed Fruit and Vegetable Products

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with allergies to sulphites not to consume the Thai processed fruit and vegetable products described below. The affected products contain sulphites which are not declared on the label.

The following products are affected by this alert:

These products have been distributed in British Columbia.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.

Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to sulphites.

The importer, Henlong Oriental Gifts & Foods Co. Ltd., Surrey, BC, is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
