SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 16, 2014) - 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Alliant Couple and Family Clinic (ACFC), provides more than 125 San Diego couples and families low-fee therapy sessions per month, utilizing one of the most groundbreaking forms of therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Of the families served, nearly 70 percent are active and veteran military families.
The ACFC presents the beautiful musical event, Unbroken: Cabaret for a Cause at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts, Saturday, May 3, to raise funds for its mental health services for military personnel and their families in San Diego.
Up to 42 percent of military returning from active duty need mental health treatment; military suicide rates are up 46 percent and upwards of 97 percent of military marriages result in divorce post-deployment.
EFT is proven to be highly effective for many current or former military personnel to combat the statistics and create secure emotional bonds alleviating stress, anxiety and risk of divorce or abuse.
"Due to issues of insurance, confidentiality and long waitlists, military often do not receive the mental health services they need. The ACFC sessions are here to bridge the gap. Our goal with this event is to raise funds to continue serving our military and their families," said Lisa Palmer-Olsen, ACFC Director.
Tickets for Unbroken: Cabaret for a Cause are available through the Poway Center for the Performing Arts at www.powaycenter.com or by calling the box office at 858-748-0505. The Poway Center for the Performing Arts is located at 15498 Espola Rd., Poway, CA 92064. Tickets range from $25-$40 depending on seat location. Cocktail attire requested.
The ACFC is also accepting 100 percent tax-deductible donations to support its therapy sessions for military personnel and their families. To donate, please visit www.acfcsd.org.
