Allied Electronics Achieves Perfect Safety Evaluation

FORT WORTH, TX--(Marketwire - Jun 29, 2011) - Allied Electronics recently received a perfect score on its annual safety inspection by FM Global. The report is used for insurance underwriting purposes and to bring hazards and areas for improvement to clients' attention.

The FM Global report concluded that Allied management understands the risks of the facility and places a high priority on loss and prevention. Sound human element programs are in place, which include frequent inspections and testing of the fire protection systems. Ultimately, the report had no recommendations for improvement, giving Allied a perfect score according to FM Global standards.

"FM Global performs annual inspections at all 17 Electrocomponents plc sites throughout the company," says George Blais, facility director at Allied. "The purpose is not only to make sure we are adhering to safe practices but to make an overall assessment to determine the cost of the annual insurance premiums. The score we received is by far the best FM has ever given in our industry."

"[There were] no recommendations on the report, which is vanishingly rare in my experience," says Allan Macpherson, AVP Chief Engineering Technical Specialist, Northern Europe Operations at FM Global.

Allied has achieved high scores in recent years, but this is the first time it has received the perfect score of 87. According to FM Global, the industry average score is 62.
