AlliedBarton to Host Free Workplace Violence Prevention Seminar in Columbia, South Carolina

COLUMBIA, SC--(Marketwired - Oct 9, 2014) - AlliedBarton Security Services,, the industry's premier provider of highly trained security personnel, will host a free workplace violence prevention seminar on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The seminar will take place at Columbia College, 1301 Columbia College Drive in Columbia, SC.

Opening remarks will be made by Bob Berry, Business Development Specialist, AlliedBarton. The featured presenter is Bruce T. Blythe, an internationally acclaimed crisis management expert from Crisis Management International, a worldwide organization of crisis management specialists, business continuity planners, and former FBI and Secret Service agents. He will present "Understanding the Violent Mind and Components of a Workplace Violence Program."

"As the global economy struggles, incidents of hostility, anger and threats of violence in the workplace occur more frequently," said Bruce T. Blythe, CEO, Crisis Management International. "Typical responses to threatening situations in the workplace do little to defuse hostile and violent individuals. My presentation will provide a combined psychological and law enforcement perspective on why people become hostile and violent. When the attitudes, beliefs and mental images of these individuals are clearly understood, effective defusing and redirecting strategies become available."

Seminar discussion topics will include understanding the hostile and violent mind, what triggers hostile and violent responses, the anatomy of blame, communicating with high-concern individuals, avoiding provokers and defusing hostile and potentially violent people.

Media interested in attending this event are encouraged to RSVP to the press contact in this release.
