AlliedBarton Security Officers in Wilmington Area Honored by ASIS International for Outstanding Service

WILMINGTON, DE--(Marketwire - February 18, 2011) - Several heroic and brave security officers from AlliedBarton Security Services, www.alliedbarton.com, the industry's premier provider of highly trained security personnel, were honored on February 17 by ASIS International's Delaware Chapter at the security association's Private Security Appreciation Night dinner and award presentations at the DuPont Country Club in Wilmington.

The AlliedBarton security officers recognized were Emmanuel Simms for Valor; Steven Dorelus and Horace Hayes for Outstanding Performance; and James Trotto, Jamie Lewis and Kim Clark for Sustained Superior Performance.

"We are grateful to ASIS International's Wilmington Chapter for taking the time to recognize our security officers, whose efforts and training many times go unnoticed by the general public," said Jim Gorman, Vice President and General Manager of AlliedBarton's Philadelphia Region. "We are extremely proud of these officers for their contributions to the safety of the residents and business leaders of the Wilmington area."

Security officer Simms was on parking lot patrol in the early morning hours at ATAPCO Christiana Executive Campus when he observed a man in obvious distress sitting in his vehicle. Using his training, Simms comforted the victim, contacted his family, summoned paramedics and police, and stayed with the man until he was taken to the hospital, where he was admitted with pneumonia and other health issues.

Security officers Dorelus and Hayes were working the overnight shift at the St. Anthony's Italian Festival in North Wilmington when they observed several men breaking into a storage case that was being used for the festival. Dorelus and Hayes notified Wilmington police, and then pursued the men, forcing them to drop stolen goods and burglary equipment as they ran away.

Site Supervisor Trotto was honored for his superior performance as a Lead Site Supervisor at Wilmington University. Trotto consistently strives to maintain the highest levels of service by his security team for the students, faculty and staff at the university's two campuses.

Supervisor Clark was honored for her dedication and tireless leadership at Barclays Bank, 125 S. West St. in Wilmington. She consistently goes out of her way to make visitors feel welcome and ensure that she and her staff are there to help them.

Site Supervisor Lewis, who is assigned to an office building at 919 Market St., Wilmington, was honored for his leadership and commitment to the education and training of those security officers under his direction. All of his efforts are aimed at exceeding the client's expectations.
