AlliedBarton Security Services Honored as Distinguished Employer of the Year

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA--(Marketwire - Jun 15, 2011) - AlliedBarton Security Services, www.alliedbarton.com, the industry's premier provider of highly trained security personnel, was honored as the Distinguished Employer of the Year by the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission at the Greater Boston Employer Advisory Board's annual awards breakfast at the Copley Marriot in Boston, MA. The award was presented to Joe Scagline, Regional Director of Human Resources, AlliedBarton, for his and AlliedBarton's efforts to provide employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities.

"This hiring objective is very important to me on a personal level as well as a professional one because at AlliedBarton, our employees are challenged to Dare to be Great -- to raise the bar on our personal best every day," said Scagline. "But the measure of true greatness for me is when people have the courage to overcome challenges that to many of us might be deal breakers. When individuals push beyond their obstacles, through determination and hard work, they can create positive change in their own lives. It has been said that individuals with disabilities are only able to live independently when they can find meaningful, professional employment, and it is my goal to further this relationship that AlliedBarton has developed with the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission to identify career opportunities for more individuals."

"AlliedBarton has been an exceptional employer in giving qualified candidates an opportunity to work, and for helping those individuals retain their positions while encouraging them to advance," said Daniel T. Craven, Employment Services Specialist for the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission. "They are a remarkable company, doing remarkable things that help strengthen their business and enrich the communities in which they work."

Scagline also recently accepted the Distinguished Employer of the Year award from the Independent Living Center for the North Shore and Cape Ann, a sister organization of the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, for AlliedBarton's efforts in hiring disabled individuals who have since become self-sufficient and have been able to actualize independent living opportunities.
