AlliedBarton Security Services, HR Plus and the Lehigh Valley ASIS Chapter Present a Free Workplace Violence Prevention Seminar

LEHIGH VALLEY, PA--(Marketwire - Oct 4, 2011) - AlliedBarton Security Services, the industry's premier provider of highly trained security personnel, and HR Plus, a leading provider of comprehensive solutions for employment and background screening, in partnership with the Lehigh Valley ASIS Chapter will host a free workplace violence prevention seminar from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at the Best Western Plus at 300 Gateway Drive, Bethlehem, PA. Easton Mayor Salvatore J. Panto Jr. and Ron Rabena, AlliedBarton Division President, will be providing opening remarks.

"Workplace violence is an important issue in today's society," said Mayor Panto. "It is not to be taken lightly."

"Nearly two million American workers report having been victims of workplace violence each year," said Rabena. "Unfortunately, many more cases go unreported. AlliedBarton and our seminar partners are working together to provide information and resources so we can help to lessen the chances of an incident from happening."

Seminar discussion and workshop topics will include an overview of problematic behaviors -- learning the signs; a discussion panel; and a presentation on active shooters.

"This type of workplace violence prevention seminar is extremely important for all employees," said Detective Michael Munch, Colonial Regional Police Department. "Unfortunately, the possibility of an active shooter in the workplace is becoming more and more prevalent. Therefore, it is vital that businesses and police departments prepare together for such incidents."

"It is great that organizations can work together and present vital prevention information on all forms of workplace violence to improve efforts of protecting ourselves and our businesses," said Brent O'Bryan, AlliedBarton Vice President of Learning & Development. "We all need to properly prepare to reduce and prevent the likelihood of workplace violence."

Seminar attendees will receive a complimentary eBook preview of Bill Whitmore's new book, "Potential: Workplace Violence Prevention and Your Organizational Success."

Potential, www.potentialthebook.com, shows how a range of stakeholders -- from CEOs and other senior leaders to building management, human resources, contract security and law enforcement -- can work together to lower an organization's workplace violence risk and enhance its overall morale and performance.

Speakers and panel members include: Easton Mayor Salvatore J. Panto Jr.; Detective Michael Munch, Colonial Regional Police Department; Trooper John T. Yount II, Community Services Officer, PA State Police Troop L - Reading, PA; Ron Rabena, AlliedBarton Division President; Brent O'Bryan, AlliedBarton Vice President of Learning & Development; and Lane Donatelli, AlliedBarton District Manager.
