AlliedBarton Security Services Participates in National Employ Older Workers Week

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA--(Marketwired - Sep 23, 2013) - AlliedBarton Security Services,, the industry's premier provider of highly trained security personnel, is proudly supporting the Department of Labor's National Employ Older Workers Week, September 23-28, by identifying various employment opportunities for experienced workers.

By 2014, 41 percent of Americans 55 or older will be employed, making up over 21 percent of the U.S. labor force. National Employ Older Workers Week aims to increase awareness of this labor segment and develop innovative strategies to tap into it.

AlliedBarton district offices across the country will be supporting this initiative by dedicating at least one day during the week to exclusively recruit, review and interview mature workers, as well as further develop relationships with organizations who strive to place these candidates. AlliedBarton recruiters will be working closely with the AARP and the National Asian Pacific Counsel on the Aging (NAPCA) to host and promote hiring events.

"Experienced workers are essential to today's workforce, and fit very well into the security industry," said Jerold Ramos, AlliedBarton's Director of Strategic Recruiting. "They are flexible, punctual, trainable and mature. These are just some of the attributes that make older workers valuable within organizations. I encourage all employers to be open to these high-quality candidates."

National Employ Older Workers Week also showcases the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), which provides on-the-job skills training to individuals 55 or older with limited financial resources. Since its inception, SCSEP has helped more than one million older Americans enter the workforce.
