Allocade Demonstrates Its Artificial Intelligence Engine at HIMSS; Addresses One of Healthcare's Most Pressing Problems

On-Cue™ Software Solution Installed in 20 U.S. Hospitals

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - March 1, 2010) -  HIMSS Booth #7666 -- Allocade, Inc., the developer of innovative healthcare software solutions, will demonstrate its On-Cue™ software at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2010 Annual Conference and Exhibition in Atlanta this week. Powered by an Artificial Intelligence Engine, the On-Cue software solution addresses one of healthcare's most pressing problems today: patient flow optimization. This new, efficient operating system creates dynamic patient itineraries that help caregivers effectively manage patient flow logistics and improve operational efficiencies.

One hospital experiencing the benefits of On-Cue is Children's Hospital Boston. The hospital, a worldwide leader in pediatric health and research, recently decided to install the On-Cue software throughout the hospital's entire Radiology Department. It was originally installed in the Interventional Radiology (IR) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Departments last fall.

"On-Cue helped to make our processes for communication more efficient," said Sharon Silk, M.P.H., director, radiology quality management and operations improvement, Children's Hospital Boston. "Paper-based workflows and white boards required a significant number of phone calls and walking between areas to learn about the status of a patient. Also, with all of our IT systems, we did not have an easy way to capture meaningful metrics, which are necessary for making operational improvements.

Our front desk staff, nurses, technologists, anesthesiologists, radiologists, recovery room staff and our management team know the patient status and progression through the area or department. We have a more accurate estimation of patient wait times and exam completion times, which we use to update families. In addition, the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York is utilizing On-Cue with similar success.

At NASA, Rosenthal led the Artificial Intelligence Applications Group in the NASA Ames Research Center where he was responsible for the dynamic rescheduling software that optimally utilized the limited resources on the Hubble Space telescope.
