Alma Resources Welcomes Art Soregaroli to the Advisory Board

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 13, 2006) - Alma Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:ALV)(FWB:W2U)(WKN: A0HM01) ("Alma" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that Dr. Art Soregaroli has been appointed to the Advisory Board of the Company, effective immediately.

"Dr. Soregaroli is widely recognised as one of the pre-eminent exploration geologists in the industry. We are very excited to have his expertise available to us as an advisor and plan to have him on the ground in Mexico early in the New Year," said Mr. Jag Bal, President of Alma Resources. "Dr. Soregaroli has a wealth of experience in Mexico and Latin America, and we are delighted that he has decided to assist Alma Resources in advancing our portfolio of properties, with a specific focus on the upcoming drill programs for our key Las Tacotes and Barrateros projects. We anticipate that he will also be instrumental in helping Alma assess other potential property acquisition targets."

Dr. Soregaroli is a highly accomplished and well respected exploration geologist with a lifetime of achievement in and contribution to the industry. As Chief Geoscientist for Teck Corporation (now Teck Cominco), reporting directly to the President and Chairman of the Board, he was involved in foreign explorations and evaluation in Latin American, Pacific Rim and Asian countries, and was an internal consultant to the company's North American exploration groups. As Vice President, Exploration, for Westmin Resources (later acquired by Boliden AB) he was responsible for the development and implementation of the company's worldwide exploration strategies. He has also worked for Noranda Exploration, AMAX, the Geological Survey of Canada, and as an Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia.

Dr. Soregaroli earned his Ph.D. in geology at the University of British Columbia and a Masters degree in geology from the University of Idaho. He is a Fellow and former President and Trustee of the Society of Economic Geologists, a Fellow and former President of the Association of Exploration Geochemists (now the Association of Applied Geochemists), a Fellow of the Geological Association of Canada (GAC), of the Geological Society of America and of the Mineralogical Association of Canada, and Honorary Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (CIM). He has been honoured with numerous industry awards, including a Distinguished Service Gold Medal (1991) and the A.O. Dufresne Award for exceptional achievements and distinguished contributions to mining exploration in Canada by the CIM (2000), the Frank Woodside Past Presidents' Award in recognition of outstanding service by the BC & Yukon Chamber of Mines (now the Association for Mineral Exploration BC (AME BC)) (2004), and the Duncan Derry Medal for outstanding contributions to the science of economic geology in Canada by the GAC (1987).

Alma Resources Ltd. has granted 320,000 stock options to employees and consultants of the company, exercisable for a period of five years, at a price of $0.55 per share.
