Almas Jiwani Attends the Glamorous Styles Week Press Conference in Egypt

CAIRO, EGYPT--(Marketwired - June 26, 2014) - Ms Almas Jiwani from Canada and The Honorable Dr. Mervat Tallawy, Minister from the Egyptian Government and President the National Council of Women attended the launch of Glamorous Styles Week (GSW) Press Conference in Cairo held on June 23^rd, 2014 to address on the importance of promoting gender equality and the significant role in the fashion industry in empowering women.

Dr. Rania Belal, Chairman of GSW and owner of the Elegant Trading & Consulting Agency and the driving force for the creativity and the promotion of artistic endevours in Egypt stated that "Almas Jiwani's presence at the press conference has helped create an awareness platform for the women of Egypt, who are the main source of the society-building power in all areas of the [fashion] field."

Almas Jiwani spoke about the importance of confidence and self-esteem for young women their healthy physical and psychological development; the role of the media in harming young women's perceptions of beauty; and the opportunities within the fashion industry to encourage, celebrate and promote diversity and self-confidence.

A four-day First International Glamorous Style Fashion Week festival will be held in Cairo, Egypt from August 18^th-21^st, 2014.
