Almas Jiwani Calls to End Gender-Based Violence in Her Upcoming Keynote Address at the Canadian Human Rights Voice Seminar at Queens Park


TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Feb. 23, 2015) - Almas Jiwani, President of UN Women National Committee Canada, will deliver the keynote address as a chief guest at the 2nd Annual Women's Rights Seminar organized by The Canadian Human Rights Voice on March 9, 2015, from 12:30pm to 3:00 pm at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario at Queen's Park.

"Following International Women's Day, Canadians must look beyond their own borders to the gender-based violence occurring around the globe," Almas Jiwani said. "This is why I am honoured to speak at the Women's Rights Seminar which aims to discuss abuses both domestically and internationally.

The seminar will include discussion on Gender Based Violence, domestically and internationally. Topics of discussion include: Education, Workplace Abuse/Violence, Child Marriage/Human Trafficking, and Sexual Violence in Sri Lanka.
