Almas Jiwani to Deliver Keynote Address at the Drum Cafe 2014 Conference and Festival in Nairobi, Kenya

NAKURU, KENYA--(Marketwired - May 16, 2014) - Almas Jiwani will deliver the keynote address at the Drum Café 2014 Conference and Festival in Nairobi, Kenya. The conference will be held in Nakuru County from May 28th to 30th.

"Drum Café conferences capture the people's voice by bridging the gap between communal involvement and government decision-makers. I have witnessed first-hand the power generated when individual opinions evolve into policy initiatives, and I look forward to taking part in these events once again," says Almas Jiwani, President of UN Women National Committee Canada.

Ms. Jiwani will be joining experts and academics from across the world, honouring this year's theme of celebrating humanity and defining one's self as a world citizen. Ms. Jiwani will speak about the role of women and their critical role in the economic, communal and social development of Kenya.

"It is impossible to celebrate humanity and concepts like world citizenship without first realizing the profound affect women are having on our communities. In allegiance to aligning ourselves for the equitable cause that Almas Jiwani stands firmly behind. We are honored to invite Almas as she continues to champion the real need for gender equality. We are honoured to have her speak and share her views at the conference,"said Edward Kabuye, Director of Talking Drums Of Africa and The Drum Café.
