Almas Jiwani Proudly Lights a Spark for Gender Equality as a Torchbearer for the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Games

The Pan Am Flame is a symbol of unity among the 41 nations that make up the Pan American Sports Organization. On June 30^th the Pan Am flame stood for more than that when Almas Jiwani passed the flame as a torchbearer.

"Sexist attitudes and stereotypes plague women's sports but international sporting events like the Pan Am Games not only unite nations, they act as a catalyst for gender equality," said Almas Jiwani, after her torch relay.
