Alouettes Add Veteran Defensive Back

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - March 16, 2005) - Today, Montreal
Alouettes' General Manager Jim Popp acquired defensive back Darrel
Crutchfield.

Crutchfield played 33 games in three seasons with the Eskimos since he
signed with the team in 2002. In each of the last two seasons, he made
30 defensive tackles. Last year, he added a knockdown, a tackle for a
loss and even blocked a field goal. In 2001, Crutchfield played four
games with the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles. In four years at the
prestigious University of Clemson, Crutchfield made 92 tackles and 14
knockdowns. He is 26.
