Alouettes / Gibson and Sejour in Montreal: Two NFL
Veterans Also Added to the Roster

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - March 7, 2005) - Montreal Alouettes'
General Manager Jim Popp announced today the signing of two veteran CFL
defensive players, Phil Gibson and Serge Sejour. Jim Popp also announced
the signings of two NFL veterans, running back Robert Edwards and
linebacker/rush end Jimmy McClain.

Defensive tackle Phil Gibson (6'2", 275 lbs.) was originally drafted by
the Alouettes in the third round, 18th overall of the 2001 Canadian
College Draft. He played two games in two years with the Alouettes
before being traded to the Saskatchewan Roughriders in August 2003.
Gibson played in 29 games over a season and a half with the Roughriders,
making 15 tackles. The Burlington, ON, native is 26.

Defensive back Serge Sejour (6'3", 190 lbs.) will begin his third season
in the CFL. He started 13 of 23 games over the last two seasons with the
Ottawa Renegades, making 44 defensive tackles and 15 special team
tackles. He had four interceptions for 56 yards and a touchdown. He is
24.

Running back Robert Edwards (5'11", 220 lbs.) was a first-round draft
pick, 18th overall, by the New England Patriots in the 1998 NFL Draft.
In his rookie season, Edwards carried the ball 291 times for gains of
1,115 yards and nine touchdowns, in addition to catching 35 passes for
331 yards and three more scores. He sustained a major leg injury in the
1999 Beach Bowl in Hawaii. Although most doctors predicted his career
would be over, Edwards returned and gained 107 yards on 20 carries in 12
games with the Miami Dolphins in 2002, and caught 18 passes for 126
yardss and a touchdown.

Linebacker/rush end Jimmy McClain (6', 231 lbs.) will be playing his
first CFL season, but his fourth in professional football. In 2002 and
2003, McClain registered 13 tackles and a knockdown in 24 games with the
NFL's Houston Texans. In 2004, he played one game with the Jacksonville
Jaguars making two tackles, and then went on to the NFL Europe's
Scottish Claymores. He is 24.
