The Alouettes Reach Out to New Fans: Two Games Will be Broadcast on Different Networks

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 27, 2005) - Two Alouettes' games will be broadcast on stations other than those that hold the team's broadcasting rights this season. This will give Reseau Info-Sports (RIS) viewers, and CHOM 97.7 FM and Info-690 listeners the chance to listen to live Alouettes' game broadcasts.

The change applies to the broadcasts of two games: Oct. 8 in Saskatchewan and Nov. 4 in Hamilton. In addition to both being broadcast on TSN as originally planned, the games will be broadcast live on RIS, followed by a re-broadcast later that same night on RDS. Both games will also be on the radio in French on Info-690 and in English on 'Montreal's Spirit of Rock' CHOM 97.7 FM.

All broadcasters involved are very excited with this new opportunity. "We are thrilled to be able to offer Alouette football, one of our most exciting on-air products, to our RIS audience of approximately 500,000 viewers in Quebec," said RDS Vice-President of Programming Francois Messier. Reseau Info-Sports is available to digital cable subscribers (channel 99 on Videotron and Cogeco; and on satellite on channel 124 Bell ExpressVu and 749 Star Choice).

"This is a great addition to CHOM's programming, and hopefully will lead new fans to tune in to CJAD for Alouettes' football in the future," said CJAD Sports Director and Alouettes' play-by-play announcer Rick Moffat. 'Montreal's Spirit of Rock' CHOM 97.7 FM will also team up with CJAD in a simulcast of this Saturday's game against the Calgary Stampeders at of 7 p.m. (EST).

"This will allow our listeners the chance to listen to the exciting action of Alouettes' football," said Info 690 General Manager Yves Guerard.
