Alouettes/Rookie Camp Report: Day 2

SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - May 27, 2005) - Alouette rookies hit the field for their second practice of rookie camp this morning. Here are the highlights of Day 2 of rookie camp:


Receiver Maurice Brown, 24, made a couple of spectacular catches. Originally from Fort Lauderdale, FL, he attended the New Orleans Saints' training camp last year.

Look at Dudley

According to Head Coach Don Matthews, Javarus Dudley is another receiver to keep an eye on. He won all races among rookies during camp. "He's got very impressive speed," said Coach Matthews.

Another Strasser

Rich Strasser, brother of Co-Offensive Coordinator Kevin Strasser, was on the field today. He is a guest coach at training camp.

Veterans' medicals tomorrow

The 'big boys' are coming in tomorrow as the out-of-town veterans will undergo their medicals. They are expected on the 3rd floor of McGill's Sports Complex (475 avenue des Pins Ouest) shortly after 9 a.m.

Schedule for tomorrow

As today, tomorrow's practice will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Stade du Haut-Richelieu's indoor training camp complex. Check our website's training camp section for directions.

Annual staff football game

The Commissioner was named for the annual staff football game between the football operations and the communications/equipment departments and Don Matthews got the nod. He assigned himself as the on-field official for the game...
