Alstom Grabs $224 Million Flue-Gas Contract for South Africa's 4,800-Megawatt Kusile Project, an Industrial Info News Alert

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA--(Marketwire - October 18, 2010) -  Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- Six wet-limestone flue-gas desulfurization units will be installed at South Africa's 4,800-megawatt (MW) Kusile gas-fired power station by Alstom S.A. (EPA:ALO) (Paris, France). The engineering, supply and installation of the units for the six 800-MW boilers, which are covered by the $224 million contract with state-owned Eskom (Johannesburg, South Africa), will be performed in a consortium with independent structural steel, mechanical and piping company Cosira (Brakpan, South Africa).
