Alta at Indian Woods Hosts Summer Block Party to Introduce New Apartment Home Community in Stoughton, Massachusetts

Demand Is Already Strong for the Newest Community South of Boston; 65 Percent of Units Leased in Just Six Months

STOUGHTON, MA--(Marketwire - Jun 20, 2011) - Alta at Indian Woods, a newly opened apartment home community in this Boston suburb, will host a Summer Block Party to celebrate its 65 percent lease rate from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at the Indian Woods clubhouse, 3101 Stagecoach Rd.

A grilling station, beverage booth hosted by Blue Hills Brewery, Moon Bounce, ice cream sundaes, music, dunk tank, sushi tasting, cotton candy, putting contest, raffle prizes and popcorn will all be available during the event, during which leasing specials will be offered to new residents.

Nearly 100 of the 154 units already have been leased and more than 60 apartments are occupied in Alta at Indian Woods, the newest community south of Boston that opened for lease less than six months ago in December 2010.

"We developed Indian Woods with the lifestyle needs and desires of the professionals and service workers who live and work in and around the South Shore as well as Boston and we are gratified at the response," said Richard Dickason, New England regional director for Wood Partners, one of the top five multifamily developers in the nation, which developed the community.

"The South Shore sub-market has turned out to be very strong for us," Dickason said. "Stoughton is nicely positioned as an area enjoying a positive reputation while still offering reasonably-priced housing options."

In addition to being the only new major apartment delivery in the Boston market for all of 2010, Indian Woods is one of the few apartment communities in the region to receive ENERGY STAR® certification from the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency for superior energy efficiency.

The community is 38 percent more energy efficient than current building code for the area. The project includes high-efficiency windows, increased insulation levels in the walls and in the slabs, ENERGY STAR® rated appliances and lighting, and additional insulation to reduce air leakage. Wood Partners' design team employed energy-modeling software to predict the overall energy performance of the apartment units to ensure ENERGY STAR® standards were exceeded.

The architect for the project was PCI Architecture and the general contractor was Pro Con Inc., both based in Hooksett, N.H.
