AltaLink Reports 2011 Third Quarter Results

Today, AltaLink, L.P. announced net income of $55.1 million for the nine-month period ended September 30, 2011, compared with $50.8 million for the same period in 2010. Net income for the third quarter of 2011 was $20.6 million, compared with $13.4 million for the same period in 2010. Revenue for the third quarter was $82.0 million, compared with $81.4 million in 2010.

As a partnership, AltaLink, L.P. reports its net income before income taxes; therefore its results are not directly comparable with net income reported by corporations that recognize income taxes in their financial statements.

Construction begins on Cassils-Bowmanton-Whitla projects

During the third quarter of 2001, construction began on the Cassils-Bowmanton-Whitla projects, part of the first stage of the Southern Alberta Transmission Reinforcement. The projects will allow Alberta homes, farms and businesses access to new wind-generated electricity. Approved by the Alberta Utilities Commission earlier in 2011, the projects are expected to be energized in 2014.
