Altec Lansing Adds 'Expressionist Classic' Computer Speakers to Holiday Portfolio

New Audio System Unites Compact Size, Striking Design and Supersized Sound

MILFORD, PA--(Marketwire - November 18, 2008) - Altec Lansing, a division of Plantronics Inc. and a market leader in digital audio, today announced the new Expressionist Classic (FX2020), a distinctive, compact, 2.0 amplified computer audio system ideal for music, movies and games.

The Expressionist™ Classic is one of Altec Lansing's smallest computer audio systems, yet one of the most serious performers in its size and price category. Featuring custom, dual 3" drivers that deliver highly balanced treble and bass, the Expressionist Classic provides accurate, full-spectrum sound from within a profile the size of two soda cans.

"These compact computer speakers channel natural, rich stereo sound for the most common computer multi-media scenarios: videos, games, music, movies, webcasts and podcasts," said Don Milks, senior manager, product management PC Audio for Altec Lansing. "By design, the Expressionist Classic is a great fit for today's space -- offering exceptional performance in a package that is complementary to today's laptops, desktops, and multimedia systems."

To the eye, the Expressionist Classic audio system is uniquely retro, taking stylistic cues from Altec Lansing's 70-year legacy of professional audio technology. Industrial, cylindrical cabinets give a nod to classic speaker elements such as compression drivers and oversized bezels, while the smoke-grey acrylic square 'props' add a dramatic silhouette. The highly stylized look, when combined with the system's compact size, powerful sound and universal connectivity, make the Expressionist Classic an ideal sound solution for any computer location and setting.
