Alternative Fuels Americas Appoints Arup Sen Chief Science Officer

MIAMI, FL--(Marketwire - February 16, 2011) - Alternative Fuels Americas, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: AFAI) announced today that Dr. Arup Sen will assume the position of Chief Science Officer effective immediately.

Dr. Sen is a PhD. in Biochemistry from Princeton University. He has published more than 50 articles in academic and industry publications and has 5 patents issued to his name in the United States and several additional ones in other countries. Arup has served as the President of Sustainable AgroBiotech, LLC of Puerto Rico, an algae biofuels company. Prior to Sustainable AgroBiotech, Arup served as Founder and Chairman of Solution Technologies, Inc., which is commercializing patent-pending mineral compositions for human health. Arup also founded GenoMechanix, LLC which has been providing molecular biology services to basic and industrial researchers.
