Altiscale Appoints Industry Veteran Mike Maciag as COO

Hadoop-as-a-Service Innovator Adds Leader With a Proven Track Record in Building New Markets

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 9, 2014) - Altiscale, Inc., a leading innovator in Hadoop-as-a-Service (HaaS) solutions, today announced it has appointed Mike Maciag, an industry veteran with extensive experience in building companies in emerging markets, as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). In his new role, Mike will be responsible for day-to-day operations and all customer-facing functions, including marketing, sales, and customer success. Mike has a long history of building companies in enterprise software markets. Prior to Altiscale, he served as the president and CEO for DevOps leader Electric Cloud, where he grew the revenue from zero to tens of millions while building a worldwide presence and signing hundreds of blue-chip customers. While at Electric Cloud, Mike spearheaded major global deployments at firms like GE, NYSE, Samsung, Morgan Stanley, and Barclays. Prior to Electric Cloud, Mike was a founder of product lifecycle management vendor MS2, guiding it through its acquisition by Agile Software. Mike has held other senior executive roles with leading enterprise software companies like Informix and EFI, where he managed multiple acquisitions and ran a $30M venture fund. Mike holds an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, and a BS from Santa Clara University.
