Altissimo! Recordings to Become Part of the Naxos Group

NASHVILLE, TN--(Marketwire - May 2, 2011) - The Naxos Group (www.naxos.com) is proud to announce that American military music label Altissimo! Recordings (http://www.militarymusic.com/index.php) has joined their roster.

The Naxos Group has purchased Altissimo! and Naxos of America will begin physical distribution of the label in North America on June 1, 2011. "Altissimo! Recordings is a natural addition to our family of labels, not only because of its local Nashville ties, but also because of our ongoing commitment to releasing new and exciting band recordings. Altissimo!'s wonderful catalog of military music will further enhance our already rich roster of band music on Naxos and other labels in our distributed label family," said Naxos of America CEO Jim Selby.

Though the Naxos Group will now be the owner of Altissimo!, the label will continue to offer its high quality recordings and its new release policy will not change. Altissimo!'s consumer catalog presence will also remain the same with appearances in its publications like Time-Life, Heartland, Wireless, America!, Sound Review, Classics, Musical Heritage, Life Dance, Great Music, Serendipity Recordings, Musical Treasurers and others.

Al McCree, Co-Founder and Former President of Altissimo! commented, "We are very pleased to be selling Altissimo! Recordings to the Naxos Group. It is clear that the legacy of Altissimo! as the world leader in military music will be preserved for generations to come."
