NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Feb 13, 2014) - When ALTOUR held its 2014 Sales Conference at the Atlantis Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas in January, the focus went beyond management strategy. Founder and President Alexandre Chemla decided to continue ALTOUR's tradition of philanthropy with a unique twist. Instead of earning prizes for their performances, employees were rewarded with dollars that could be donated to a charity that benefits Bahamian children.
The benefactor of ALTOUR's charitable giving program was the Bahamas Children's Emergency Hostel, where abused, abandoned and neglected children are cared for until a loving home is found. With the support of our sponsors and attendees, ALTOUR was able to donate $10,000 to the hostel. ALTOUR also donated 22 new bicycles, new toys, clothes, medical supplies, school supplies and toiletries. The children from the hostel enjoyed an evening at the resort, featuring a visit to the Atlantis Aquarium, followed by a lavish dinner, music, limbo dancing, fire eating and an authentic Bahamas Junkanoo.
"Giving back is a part of who we are. It's a responsibility we all share," said Chemla, adding, "and our commitment to these children doesn't end with the conference. We will continue to donate badly needed items to the hostel, and will encourage all our employees, partners and friends to do the same."
The Bahamas Children's Emergency Hostel is located in Nassau. More information can be found on the organization Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bahamas-Childrens-Emergency-Hostel/214776449980.
