Altria Group Donates $100,000 to Boulder Crest Retreat for Military and Veteran Wellness in Bluemont, VA

Donation Is the Second Gift From Altria to Support Nation's First-of-Its-Kind Retreat for Wounded Military, Veterans and Their Families

BLUEMONT, VA--(Marketwired - March 31, 2014) - Altria Group has donated $100,000 to Boulder Crest Retreat for Military and Veteran Wellness, the nation's first permanent and private rural retreat for wounded U.S. military, veterans and their families. This gift is the second $100,000 contribution from Altria and will support family stays and recreational and therapeutic activities at the new 37-acre retreat that are provided at no cost to guests.

Boulder Crest Retreat is the first-of-its kind, permanent and private rural retreat that provides free accommodations and recreational and therapeutic activities and programs to help wounded military service members, veterans and their families reconnect and recover. The 37-acre retreat opened in September 2013 and is located in Bluemont, Va., just 50 miles outside of Washington, D.C. The country sanctuary offers guests private, ADA-accessible accommodations and opportunities to relax, recover and spend time together as a family in a peaceful and natural setting while enjoying activities such as hiking, fishing, archery, yoga and meditation. The retreat also hosts group retreats and life skills programs and workshops.
