Altus Learning Systems Reinforces Its Leadership in Enterprise Video Search With Appointment of New Engineering VP

Video Veteran Krishna Menon to Leverage Online Media and Broadcast Experience From Microsoft and Avid Technology to Further Enhance Altus' Searchable-Video Platform

CAMPBELL, CA--(Marketwire - September 14, 2010) -  Altus, a leader in enterprise video search solutions for sales enablement and knowledge sharing, has appointed Krishna Menon as CTO and Vice President of Engineering. Menon joins Altus as the company brings its industry-leading vSearch™ solution to new customer segments, capitalizing on the widespread acceptance of vSearch among Fortune 100 firms such as Cisco, Oracle, Brocade, NetApp, IBM, and Salesforce.com. Menon formerly led a team of IPTV application developers at Microsoft and developed collaborative video workflow solutions at Avid Technology, leveraging over 15 years of previous experience in an extensive range of video technologies.

At Altus, Menon will drive the development of the vSearch platform and key technology partnerships at a time of unprecedented demand for video in the enterprise. He will aid Altus in its next phase of expansion, as the company capitalizes on the success of vSearch Mobile™, the first cloud-based video solution to store, manage and make fully searchable -- to the exact point of interest -- rich media content.

"Across all industry segments, companies are dramatically expanding their use of video for events, sales enablement, training and onboarding," said Ted Cocheu, founder and CEO of Altus. "Krishna comes to Altus at a time of unprecedented opportunity for the company, and his wealth of experience creating new applications and technologies for exploiting video and bringing them to market will further accelerate our technical leadership."

"It's been exciting to watch Altus vSearch become a de facto standard for video-based knowledge sharing in many of the world's leading companies," said Menon. "Organizations are grappling with a surge in demand for video as an enterprise knowledge sharing medium, and its rapid adoption by an increasingly mobile workforce makes Altus a very exciting place to be."
