Alumni Sprints League Reunites Rival Rowers

The Alumni Sprints League Emphasizes Rowing Fun in Super Sprint Racing at Regattas in Five Cities; Top Teams Earn a Team Points Trophy and the Chance to Race Against the World's Best in Berlin, Germany

OLD LYME, CT--(Marketwired - October 16, 2015) - The creators of the Alumni Sprints Regatta are pleased to announce the formation of the Alumni Sprints League ("ASL"). High school, college and graduate school alumni have raced Alumni Sprints Regattas annually since 2013 in Greenwich, CT and Philadelphia, PA. ASL expands alumni rowing to five cities across the U.S for 2016: Orlando area March 5; Washington DC area May 1; Seattle May 28; Oklahoma City June 25; and New York City area July 9.

"After three successful years of single regattas, we believe the country is ready for a full-fledged league, with monthly team standings and competitions taking place coast to coast," said Sydney Williams, President of the Alumni Sprints, Inc., operator of the Alumni Sprints League.

ASL will showcase 350 meter distance racing for fours and eights, in men's, women's and mixed events. Top finishers earn points for their alumni affiliations, and teams will be cumulatively ranked after each regatta. All alumni are welcome, regardless of rowing experience, and teams can enter as many crews as they wish.

Through an agreement with Wintech Racing, ASL will provide high-end racing equipment. "Competitors simply pay a flat-rate fee and show up ready to race -- we provide everything else." added Mr. Williams.

ASL also features an exclusive agreement with the Europe-based Rowing Champions League ("RCL"). The partnership establishes a pathway for the fastest alumni teams to compete against the best sprint-racers in Europe in the RCL championship.

"The Rowing Champions League wholeheartedly embraces ASL as its newest partner organization, and supports its impressive effort to rally alumni rowers," said Gerhard Meuer, President of RCL. "We look forward to working side-by-side with the ASL leadership team."
