AMA and CMA town hall features all five political parties


CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - March 5, 2012) - As Alberta readies for a provincial election in which health care is expected to be a priority issue, Minister of Health and Wellness Fred Horne and representatives of the four other political parties will take part Tuesday, March 6, in a town hall on the future of health care. The town hall is sponsored by the Alberta Medical Association, the Canadian Medical Association and the Calgary Herald.

Questions will be posed by members of the public, Herald readers, other health care organizations and non-profits, and a Calgary physician.

In addition to Mr. Horne, the panelists will be:

  • Dr. David Swann, MLA and Liberal health critic
  • Heather Forsyth, MLA and Wildrose Alliance health critic
  • Glenn Taylor, Leader, Alberta Party
  • Shannon Phillips, former federal NDP candidate
