AMACO Celebrates Brent Pottery Wheels 40th Anniversary With Style

INDIANAPOLIS, IN--(Marketwire - December 23, 2008) - AMACO is gearing up for a spectacular celebration. The year 2009 will mark Brent's® 40th anniversary with AMACO. This celebration is sure to be a special event for those who thoroughly enjoy working with their Brent pottery wheels. The 40th anniversary reception will take place during the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) conference in Phoenix, Arizona on Wednesday, April 8th from 5-7:00pm at the Hyatt Regency. Brent's founder and pottery innovator Robert Brent and his wife Paula will be present for the celebration.

Brent® made its reputation as the Harley Davidson of potters' wheels by providing optimal torque at all speeds. To honor that reputation for performance, quality, strength and durability, the 'Classic' Controller is back and better than ever. Auto Load Regulation means constant RPM so the wheel speed won't slow down under varying loads while providing total control and response from the foot pedal. The Filtered SCR design is quiet while not creating interference on AM/FM radios like some other controllers.

Potters will enjoy wheel throwing with the old, reliable toggle switches for on/off and forward/reverse commands, as well as a protruding power indicator light that makes it convenient to operate when sitting behind the wheel. The forward/reverse switch also has a neutral "safety" position to assure a smooth transition when switching directions. Easy-to-service modular connections make replacements and repairs quick. Brent® proudly celebrates 40 years of excellence with a return to 'Classic' features and a 10-Year Warranty on all Brent® wheels purchased during our anniversary year.

"Everyone imitates Brent," says Dee Schaad, Ceramic Professor, University of Indianapolis. That's because Brent® manufacturing has set the standard for wheel performance and quality for 40 years. AMACO bought the line of Brent® wheels and equipment in 1977 from pottery innovator Robert Brent, who began manufacturing in 1969. Potters worldwide recognize the gold splash pans as the identifying trademark of a Brent® wheel.

If you're an AMACO/Brent fan and will be in Phoenix, Arizona in early April, make sure you swing by to join in the AMACO/Brent 40th anniversary festivities. This event is sure to be a smash!
