Amala Foundation Grateful to Stanley Tomchin for Support

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Jan 6, 2015) - Known for his extensive philanthropic efforts in Santa Barbara and Las Vegas, Stanley Tomchin has recently extended his support to the Texas-based organization Amala Foundation, which runs incredible projects to help young people from different backgrounds. Tomchin found his passion to get involved in local and international charity projects more than twenty years ago and has influenced the lives of thousands, focusing especially on children and teenagers.

"Amala Foundation is an inspiring organization that has changed the lives of so many people. They show how easy it is to make a difference together with a team of motivated people who care about this world and the lives of others," says Stanley Tomchin. The foundation's extensive projects cover five countries and four states and have so far helped more than 3,000 young people coming from 50 different nations. The latest event, the "Texas One Village Project," took place earlier this month, when Amala partnered up with Refugee Services of Texas. The goal was to beautify the newly opened RST office and to strengthen the bond between Refugee Services of Texas clients and Amala's youth programs, some of which are especially geared towards integrating refugees and immigrants.

Founded in 2001 by Vanessa Stone, Amala's vision is to unite people from all walks of life and inspire them to advance as individuals and to assume responsibility as leaders in service to humanity. The organization offers supportive and inspiring experiences that give people from a variety of backgrounds opportunity to come together in a safe environment to foster personal growth, communication with each other and a feeling of belonging. "When I gathered information about the foundation, I came across the meaning of the name 'Amala'," tells Tomchin. "It means 'hope' in Arabic, 'pure' in Hindi and 'work' in Hebrew. I think those are all invaluable traits and love how the name combines many languages and cultures all into one. At the end of the day it does not matter where we come from, we all want and need the same things from life -- love, peace and a safe place to live."

Stanley Tomchin has a reputation of a hands-on activist and generous supporter of a great number of local causes as well as international organizations. Noteworthy projects include The IDEAL School in New York City, The Community Action Fund for Women in Africa, The American Wheelchair Mission, The Boys and Girls Club of Santa Barbara, Three Square food bank, "I Have A Dream" Foundation, Boston's HOCC, and The Aids Service Center of New York City. The Las Vegas-based Marty Hennessy Jr. Tennis Foundation grants Tomchin the opportunity to indulge in one of his own favorite hobbies -- playing tennis -- while actively engaging with children supported by the foundation, mentoring them and helping to achieve their goals and dreams in life.
