Amalfi Semiconductor Passes 100 Million CMOS Power Amplifiers Shipment Milestone

Expands Into China to Support Key Customers and Growing Markets

LOS GATOS, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 11, 2012) - Amalfi® Semiconductor, Inc., an emerging leader in cost effective, high performance CMOS power amplifier solutions for cellular handsets, today announced it has shipped more than 100 million CMOS power amplifiers, further positioning the company at the forefront of this growing market.

"Shipping more than 100 million transmit modules highlights not only our capacity to bring to market high quality CMOS power amplifiers in volume, but also our ability to translate strong global demand into new business," said Mark Foley, CEO and president at Amalfi. "Current forecasts predict Amalfi will ship more than 150 million units by the end of the year. All of these developments underscore the fact that we are quickly gaining significant share in the worldwide mobile phone market."

The company began shipping its family of CMOS 2G GSM/GPRS transmit module (TxM) integrated circuits (IC) in 2009. In August 2011, Amalfi introduced its second-generation AdaptiveRF™ architecture, which delivers high performance at highly competitive costs compared to traditional GaAs-based modules.

In addition to passing the 100 million units shipped milestone, the company announced that it has opened an office in Shanghai to expand Amalfi's product development efforts and to offer extended services for local businesses and customers across Asia. The office will provide sales, customer applications, corporate applications and engineering design functions.

"We are making a significant investment with our new facility in China, which will allow us to offer the highest level of service to our customers, while exploring new, lucrative markets throughout Asia," concluded Foley.
