Amalfi Wins 2011 Semiconductor Start-up to Watch Award

AdaptiveRF™ Technology Recognized as Innovation With the Potential to Change Semiconductor Industry

LOS GATOS, CA--(Marketwire - Dec 13, 2011) - Amalfi® Semiconductor, an emerging leader in advanced power amplifier solutions for cellular handsets, today announced that it was recognized with the 2011 Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) Start-up to Watch Award at this year's annual GSA awards banquet.

The GSA Award's Committee, comprised of members of the Emerging Company CEO Council, venture capitalists and select serial entrepreneurs in the industry, selected Amalfi as the winner of the Start-up to Watch Award by identifying the company as having the highest potential to positively change its market or the semiconductor industry in general through innovative use of semiconductor technology or a new application for semiconductor technology.

"This has been an exceptional year for Amalfi," stated Mark Foley, CEO at Amalfi. "From a business perspective we have eclipsed some significant milestones, recently surpassing 50 million units shipped while seeing a 100 percent increase in revenues over 2010. Receiving this prestigious award is the icing on the cake. We are truly honored to receive this distinction and would like to thank the GSA Council and venture capitalist community for recognizing our vision, strategy and technology."

This award follows the recent launch of Amalfi's second-generation AdaptiveRF power amplifier architecture. Leveraging a CMOS linear power amplifier core, AdaptiveRF provides a cost-effective, high-performance platform that extends battery life while decreasing the front-end costs, size and power consumption of cellular handset and data terminal designs.
