Amanta Applies for Exploration Licences for Vietnam Gold Prospects

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 22, 2005) - Amanta Resources Ltd. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:AMH) is pleased to announce the Company has filed applications for Exploration Licences for two gold prospect areas in Vietnam; the Lang Alao and Haroon prospects. The Company filed the applications with the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources in Hanoi.

The Lang Alao and Haroon prospects, which cover 20 km2 and 80 km2 respectively, are located in the Central Highlands province of An Khe, approximately midway between the capital city of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).

Both projects are located in Permo-Triassic granite complexes and consist of stockworks of quartz and andesite veins and dykes mineralized with sulphide material. These mineralizations at times are quite massive and carry elevated gold values. Small scale artisan miners work some of the dykes and veins.

During its reconnaissance of the areas, Amanta geologists collected a total of twelve selected rock samples. These samples were analyzed for gold in the MAS laboratory in Bangkok and eight of the samples returned gold values averaging 12 g/t gold, the highest value being 55 g/t gold.

The Company considers the Lang Alao and Haroon prospects to have excellent potential. The Licence applications demonstrate the Company's development strategy to acquire properties of merit in Thailand and the surrounding countries.

Geological Information contained within this report has been verified by Pieter Bakker (Director, Executive VP - Amanta Resources Ltd.). Mr. Bakker satisfies the requirements of a Qualified Person as defined in the National Instrument 43-101 (Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects).

Amanta Resources Ltd. is focused on mineral exploration, development and production in Thailand and the Southeast Asian region. The Company's strategy is to concentrate on the systematic evaluation of known mineral occurrences, rather than "greenfields" exploration, creating early opportunities to finance and develop mines.
